GFI ISA server error “no WMI installed on the remote server”

While Monitoring Microsoft ISA server with GFI, you will may receive this error:

Unable to access 'ISA SERVER'. Possible reasons: no WMI installed on the remote server, no rights to access remote WMI service, or remote server down, Down for 00h 01m

To resolve this issue you need to follow these steps:

  • Open Microsoft ISA Management
  • Click on ‘Firewall Policy’
  • Click Tasks tab from your Left panel.
  • Click ‘Edit System Policy’
  • here in ‘Configuration Group’ tree, click ‘Active Directory’
  • uncheck ‘Enforce strict RPC compliance’.
